BAHAU: Rubber trees usually stop producing latex when they are 30 years old, but one elderly rubber tree still manages to provide 1.5kg of latex every day despite being over 70 years old!

The tree is huge. Its' trunk is as wide as 3 men embracing each other. Rubber plantation owners in the area said that such an old rubber tree was uncommon, and the fact that it could still produce latex makes it even more amazing.

The tree's owner, Roslina, 43, said that the tree had been handed down from her grandfather's time. In memory of him, she left the tree alone and didn't cut it down. Instead, she set up a stall beneath it selling fried chicken.

Every one or two days, she will tap the rubber tree, which provides about 1.5 kg of latex each time.
