Soccermania: Man Watches Soccer While House Burns Down

BEIJING: A Beijing soccer fan whose house caught fire ran out of his burning house with the television, plugged it into a power socket, and then resumed watching the Round of 16 match between France and Spain.

His wife, who led their children out of the flames herself, said that her husband only bothered to save the TV. Once he found a power outlet for the television, he just continued watching the rest of the match.

Plenty Of Soccer Fanatics In China

Another die-hard soccer fan working in Beijing quit his job just so he could go back to his hometown and watch the World Cup. The boss of the IT company he was employed in even offered him a raise as an attempt to convince him to stay, but to no avail.

Yet another soccer fan signed a 1-month agreement with his wife, offering to do all the housework during the day just so he could settle down to watch the World Cup in peace at night.

Unfortunately, not all soccer fanatics are so considerate. A fan in Fujian province woke up his wife with his shouting and cheering during a match, and his angry wife turned off the television set. However, the fan simply locked his wife inside their bedroom and then continued watching the match.
