Dolls with oversized heads, little piglets, beat-up babies and various other eye-catching figures adorn these cigarette cases, which are proving to be a hit amongst guys and gals.
Chen Jienhong is a young entrepreneur who recognises opportunity when it comes knocking. He downloaded various eye-catching and attractive pictures from the Internet to decorate his cigarette cases.
The cigarette case above is decorated with a complex equation which arrives at the conclusion that women = devils.
The decorations on both cigarette case and lighter claim to prove that men are angels. Do you agree?
PETALING JAYA: Several enterprising young men have come up with a brilliant business idea of selling cigarette cases decorated with eye-catching phrases and pictures from the Internet. Among the various bits of cyberspace wit and creativity that they have used to decorate their merchandise, two mischievous mathematical equations stand out. One claims to prove that men = angels, the other concludes with certainty that women = devils.
Chen Jianhong, 24, who is the boss of the cigarette case stall at the SS2 night market, told a reporter from Guang Ming Daily that the plastic cigarette cases were made in a factory based on the design of normal cigarette packs. The decorative covers are pasted on like stickers later.
"Lots of people dislike the flimsy packs that cigarettes come in, so now they can carry their cigarettes in our sturdier plastic cases." He also said that the witty and creative covers were examples of youth culture.
Chen also said that since the cigarette cases were slim and graceful, they could be used not only for carrying cigarettes, but also name cards, ICs and anything else that caught the owner's fancy and would fit inside.
The black cigarette cases highlight the cheeky decorations, which carry phrases such as 'No More Killing', 'No Borrowing My Smokes', 'Are You Burning Up?', etc. Some even mistakenly thought that the stall was selling cassette tapes, only realising their mistake when they stopped by for a closer look.
