KOTA BAHRU: A 15-year-old aboriginal teenager has given birth to an intersex baby. The baby has both male genitalia and a female urethra.

The young mother, Noraini Langsa (named transliterated) has not yet named the baby, who is her third child. Her two older children are perfectly normal.

"My baby suffered from jaundice when it was born, so the baby had to remain in a hospital incubator for a week. Now that the baby's condition has improved, the baby will undergo a second test," said the mother who works as a rubber tapper.

Noraini explained that it was the midwife who told her that the baby was intersexual.

Three days after the birth, staff from the Aboriginal Affairs Bureau came and asked her to bring the baby for a detailed check-up at Kuala Krai General Hospital

When she brought her baby to the hospital on Friday (June 29th), she was very worried about the baby's health, however the baby was declared to be healthy.
