MALAYSIA: A couple who rented out a house to someone returned 10 years later to find that it had been reduced to an empty shell.

10 years ago, 49-year-old wholesaler Chen Wancheng from Lukut, Negeri Sembilan rented out the house that his father had left him.

However, when he returned to his hometown this year to celebrate the Chinese New Year with his wife Peng Yuzhen, he discovered that the house had been stripped down to a few walls, the rest of the furnishings and parts had all been removed.

Chen said that he searched for the tenant in order to get some answers, but the tenant denied being responsible, claiming that the home had been dismantled by a party interested in buying the property.

Chen said that he had already lodged a police report and asked the police to conduct an investigation.
