MELAKA: This abandoned house in Kota Melaka has been left vacant for around 15 years.
The metal fixtures in the derelict two-story building are regarded as easy pickings by scrap metal thieves, while vagrants have taken to using it as a convenient shelter. It also serves as an illegal dumping ground for rubbish.
However, the most noteworthy element of the building is the way the aerial roots from a nearby tree descend in orderly rows from holes in the ceiling, turning it into a “house of roots.”
