BENTONG: What would you do if your baby cries overnight?

Residents in Bentong still practice some traditional folk customs. For example, when they have a baby who always cries at night, the elders will paste notices written on red paper at conspicuous places around busy areas. They believe that as long as the pedestrians read the notices, it can help to calm the crying baby.

The notice reads as follow:

From the corner till far of my sight,
I have a baby cries at night.
Could you please read this three times,
to let my baby sleep tight?
