HELSINKI, Feb 10 (AFP) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said that despite international efforts to find green energy solutions, "dried dung" and other alternative sources could not replace fossil fuels in coming decades.
"Unfortunately -- or fortunately -- neither solar energy nor wood nor dried dung, nothing will replace hydrocarbons in the next 15 to 25 years," Putin told reporters at a Helsinki summit aimed at saving the highly polluted Baltic Sea.
Russia's economy is heavily reliant on the export of fossil fuels.
