SEREMBAN, NEGERI SEMBILAN: Do you have a dream house that you think you may not be able to afford it? Perhaps, you can consider building one by yourself.

However, no brick is required for the house. Instead, you will need some textiles, paper and woodblocks.

The miniature houeses are originated from Europe. You may unleash your creativity and imagination by creating your own post office, classroom, bedroom, garden, music room and many other spaces.

Representative of the Blue Sky Art Studio in Seremban Xie Fudi said everything must be done by hands including sewing, cutting, and pasting. And thus, completing the house would bring great satisfaction.

She got to know about miniature houses two years ago and it was initially her hobby. Later, her friends started to have interests in the art and thus, she began to collect as many miniature houses as possible to share with them.

"I teach drawing and many of my students' parents are interested in miniature houses. Therefore, I started to help them get catalogs from the supplier so that they can make their orders," said Xie.

She said that building a miniature house was time consuming and thus, it helped to cultivate patience, creativity and art skill.

“Many parents like to build miniature houses with their children and it can actually enhance their relationships.

"Father may help to install lights while mother can teach their children sew since sewing is sometimes required to join some parts of the houses," she added.

She said that there was also a young man who built a wedding gown boutique as he wanted to give it to his girldfriend as a proposal gift. He even created another surprise for his girldfriend by placing the proposal ring around the neck of a model in the miniature boutique.
