CHINA: A suspected rapist pretended to be in a coma to avoid court judgement but his act fell apart when a surgeon "announced" that an extra large needle would be needed for the "patient's" injection.

The suspect, known as Chen, was sent to a hospital one day before his trial after he lost consciousness. However, doctors found him to be in a clean bill of health.

Sensing the suspect was faking his condition, one of the surgeons, Min, said loudly that he would give Chen an injection using an extra large needle – one which could cause unbearable pain.

Seconds after the "announcement", Chen's facial muscles started twitching and a few minutes later, he stood up by himself, as healthy as a bull.
